Does the festival take place in all weather conditions?
The show generally takes place in all weather conditions. However, in case of force majeure, particularly if public safety cannot be guaranteed, the performance may be interrupted or cancelled. In this case, tickets will be refunded in full if the show has lasted less than one hour.
In case of bad weather, please dress appropriately. For visibility reasons, umbrellas are not permitted.
When and where will the next edition take place?
The next edition of Avenches Tattoo will take place from 3 to 5 September 2026 in the historic setting of the Swiss National Stud Farm in Avenches.
What time do the arena gates open?
Gates open one hour before the performance.
How can I get there by public transport?
From Avenches railway station, a free shuttle service operates between the town centre, the station and the Swiss National Stud Farm throughout the three days of the festival. Shuttle buses will also take spectators back to the station after the show.
Shuttle timetable:
Thursday/Friday : from 17:00 to midnight every 20 minutes, then reduced frequency until 02:00
Saturday : from 11:30 to midnight every 20 minutes, then reduced frequency until 02:00
Is the Swiss National Stud Farm easily accessible from Avenches station?
Free shuttle buses are organised by the Municipality of Avenches between the station and the Swiss National Stud Farm during the three days of the festival. Full details can be found on our “Practical Information” page.
How can I get there by car?
A dedicated parking area and shuttle bus service are organised by the Municipality of Avenches during the Tattoo. Upon arrival, please follow the event signage for parking.
A parking fee of CHF 5 per vehicle applies.
Is there parking for visitors with reduced mobility?
Visitors with reduced mobility (disabled parking permit holders) and their companion may park in the VIP car park located near the Swiss National Stud Farm.
A golf cart shuttle service will operate between the VIP car park and the Swiss National Stud Farm.
How long does the show last?
The show lasts approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Is each performance different?
No. Avenches Tattoo presents one unique original show!

You can therefore choose the date and time that suits you best.
Will food and drinks be available on site?
Facilities will be set up at Tattoo Square near the arena, offering a wide range of food and drink options throughout the festival.
I would like to attend with my children. Are there family rates?
For all categories except VIP Gallery, children under 16 benefit from a 50% discount.
For the Saturday 2:30 PM performance, when purchasing one adult ticket, children attend free, up to a maximum of 2 children. Tickets are available exclusively through Avenches Tourism.
Is the VIP Gallery covered?
Yes, the VIP Gallery is covered. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Avenches Tourism by phone at +41 26 676 99 22 or via the ticketing service on our website.
